Wine Review :Rounded, rich, and flavorful. Aromas of golden apple, vanilla, and spicy oak hints. Full bodied, with rich, ripe fruit flavors, medium+ acidity and a creamy texture. Hints of oak, spice, and smoke linger on a longer finish. Enjoy with classic herb-roasted chicken.( Nataliemaclean.com)
Wine Folly: In Wine Folly it is stated that Chardonnay is one of the world's most popular grapes. ( Pg. 95) It was easy to determine why it is so popular with the public. The chardonnay is soft on the palate but yet has strong aromas. It was also light enough to seem to pair well with many delicate dishes such as lobster.(Pg. 96) Wine Folly also explained that there was a higher alcohol content in this wine which was shocking for me because it balances so well you could not even taste any alcohol. It was also stated that the flavors in this wine are yellow apples, starfruit, pineapple, and vanilla.
My review: I felt this wine was nice but it seemed to have a lack of taste for me. This wine was drunk alone I did not eat prior to drinking it I also did not have water or other cleansers before testing this wine. I did not taste all of the fruit flavors in this wine the way I did when I tried a sparking. As a result I will be trying more white wines to see if this is a common theme or maybe just this particular vintage didn't have as strong a taste. I did however smell many different items. I did my swirl and sniff and was able to smell the aroma of oak, maybe more wood like which I felt was weird at first until I looked at Wine Folly and realized that was a real scent in the wine. I could also smell some cinnamon or nutmeg while getting lots of fruit scents such as peaches and pineapples. This wine also left a nice smooth finish for me. I felt light and airy. I also felt this would pair well with many of the dishes in my household since we are pescatarian. This wine seemed to have the right balances to pair with seafood dishes. I am excited to try more chardonnays from different vineyards and different white wines in general. I also did chill this wine first before drinking it so I could have a better experience and have the flavors be the temperatures they were meant to be consumed at.
